More people should be like this dog Odin, named after the Norse God of war, but a total wuss; a furious name belying an animal with a gentle nature. OK, maybe this is my reaction to the events in France and the malaise we feel with every New Year holding out so much promise and is so quickly tarnished. Just think of the Christmas/New Year disasters you've witnessed in your lifetime.
I am though, still an optimist and continue my hikes. What normally takes about 11/2 hours took 2. The sidewalks are still not plowed and Glenmore got a little bit of snow which felt like a lot in the woods

You couldn't stay morose for long spying this little guy in total enchantment of the mallards hanging around Brandt's Creek.
